Dear colleagues,

As Chairs of this year’s conference it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 21st Annual Congress of the European Association of Tissue Banks (EATB), which will be held in Vienna from November 21 – 23, 2012.

The meeting will take place at the Parkhotel Schönbrunn, the newly renovated former guesthouse of the Austrian emperor Franz Josef I.
The excellent location close to Schönbrunn Palace Park, the direct links to the city centre with the underground system and the unmistakeable imperial ambience will make your stay unique and unforgettable.

The Austrian capital has always been an interface between different cultures, where ancient transport routes, the Amber Road and the Danube intersect.
Vienna nowadays is a multi-faceted city in the heart of Europe offering numerous cultural opportunities. We trust that you will be able to enjoy the beautiful and romantic flair of the city before Christmas and meet your colleagues in a relaxed atmosphere.

The EATB holds its annual congresses to provide a forum for scientific, ethical and clinical activities relating to tissue banking as well as to provide a forum for presentation of research, collaborative working and interaction with representatives of national competent authorities.

The agenda for the congress will deal with recent advances in tissue banking and advanced therapies medicinal products (ATMP). The leading scientists will be invited to give plenary lectures and we will offer interactive workshops, educational oral communication symposia and poster sessions.

In 2012 experts from all European countries and beyond will share their knowledge and experience in Vienna. During our conference we want to highlight several exciting topics:

  • Ethics and Regulatory Affairs
  • Donor Service and Safety
  • Processing, Identification & Classification
  • Ocular Tissue
  • Musculoskeletal Tissue

  • Cardiovascular Tissue
  • Skin and skin substitutes
  • Reproductive Medicine
  • Stem Cells
  • ATMP and Hospital Exemption

The Congress will provide a stimulating forum for you to update your knowledge and to meet and interact with colleagues and experts in the field of tissue banking as well as regulators. We invite you to join us at the 21st EATB Annual Congress, which we hope will build on the extraordinary success of past congresses.

We look forward to welcoming you in Vienna!
Yours faithfully,
